About us
Horsham Walking Football is based at the Holbrook Club in Horsham.
We play on Thursday and Saturday mornings and mix between having one or two sessions each morning dependant on numbers. On Thursdays we meet at 9:15 for 9:30 session and 11 for 11:30 session, or 9:15 if playing a single session. On Thursdays Coffee and tea is served at 11am for players from both sessions to socialise. On Saturdays we meet at 9:50 for a 10am start with coffee and tea served at the end of the session. Saturday numbers have not seen the need for two sessions yet. Each session comprises a series of short games over a 90 minute period.
Each session is charged at £6, paid at the desk to the Holbrook Club. If you are a Holbrook club member the session fee is discounted to £3.
The games are competitive but the emphasis is very much on ensuring none of us take it too seriously and that everybody gets involved and enjoys themselves. Specifically we are committed to the FA's Fair Play code. The Saturday session was set up for those who want to play walking football but still might be working in the week.
All of our games are refereed according to the Walking Football Association laws (see link below) and we encourage those interested to have a go at refereeing whether or not they also want to play. We support those who want to take refereeing courses.
For those who want a further challenge, every month we take part in the over 60s and over 70s Worthing Seniors Football Club tournaments and we have an over 60s team in the Southern Combination Football League (West) - playing our home games at Horsham Football Club. We are always looking at entering teams into other local tournaments and leagues at various age groups depending on interest. We also occasionally play friendlies against other clubs
